Hello! I'm needing some assistance in a project for school. My school is attempting to put on a Japanese style festival for the community and we're wanting to introduce a lot of the different aspects of Japanese culture. I'm trying to get permission for a JMusic room to be allowed where we can play PVs from different Japanese artists. Now, I have a resource already for the female side of this, including Hello! Project, AKB48, and some others. I'm stuck on the male side. I want desperately to include Arashi and NewS. However, I don't have any good quality PVs of their songs to put onto a DVD to turn into the principal. I figured this would be a good place to go for help with this.

There are only a few requirements. It MUST be family friendly. In otherwords, a parent shouldn't have any issues with their 3-12 year old children seeing it. (DBSK's Mirotic as much as I love it couldn't be used based on hip thrusting, as well as C-ute's Massara Blue Jeans. Silly rules.) It also needs to be nice enough quality to go onto a DVD to be shown in a classroom on a tv.

I don't care who it is, or what song it is as long as it fits and will catch the attention of today's current 7-12 year olds! I was thinking about at least using

Happiness - Arashi
Love So Sweet - Arashi
Wish - Arashi
Weeek - NewS

I'm up for any other suggestions, and if you know where I can find good quality downloads of those to be able to use, please let me know.

I'm also considering adding in some Taiwanese and Korean such as S.H.E., Fahrenheit, Lollipop, Hey Girl, DBSK, and such. I have the DBSK video I want to use, just no resources for the others of those either. Thanks in advance for your help!

X Posted - Also, please feel free to spread this around to your friends and other groups and send them my way. Thanks!

Current crane count = 850+

JUST from 6th grade students in school in the last week alone.

*dies*

And they've asked to send them to more places. This project just keeps getting bigger and bigger. They've mentioned children's hospitals and soldiers overseas now. I totally didn't expect them to take it on like this.

International Peace Day was this week, and one of my plans for my follow on for the Japan trip involved discussing Japanese Peace Education, Hiroshima and so on. Since we weren't in school on August 6th, it made sense to hold it with the International Peace Day.

We discussed Hiroshima and the atomic bombs, talked about Sadako and her 1000 paper cranes. I think the story of Sadako really made an impact on them because of the fact that they are the same age as she was when she died. So in turn, I challenged them to make 1000 paper cranes by the end of the school year to be hung by my Japanese display at the front of the school. We've been doing this for only 4 days, I've spent over $75 on origami paper and we're completely out. The students are making cranes out of notebook paper, post it notes, and any other paper they can find. They've been bringing in their own origami paper that their parents have bought, sharing it with the rest of the students and are enjoying the activity of making the cranes for a reason. The students have set their own goal to make over 7000 cranes by the end of the year.

On top of that, they have two things they want to do with the cranes they make. They want to send 1000 cranes to Sadako's statue at the Peace Park in Hiroshima, which floored me. I didn't expect them to ask that on their own or to even think of it. I promised them that the first 1000 cranes I would make sure made it to Hiroshima. And you could see that they sincerely wanted to do it. They also want to send all the others that are made to the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial and Musuem in memory of the children killed there. This one is close to home for them, as they were young when it happened and it's in our own city. They are relating it to what happened in Japan, and wanting to bring the two cultures together and show their support of peace.

Several people that I've talked with, adults, performing groups, business, and even another JPop group, have wanted to get involved with this. They are either donating origami paper to the students, or making cranes to mail to our school to be included in the over all total to be sent to the different locations.

I'm not sure if this interests any of you, or if any of you would like to be involved in anyway. If you are interested in helping, whether folding cranes and mailing them to my school, or sending origami paper, or even just writing words of support to encourage the students on to surpass their goal of 7000 cranes, I'd greatly appreciate it. I think the students need to know how impressive what they are doing is, and how much of an impact that it's making on those around them. If you know anyone else who would be interested in being involved in anyway, please pass or post this to wherever, and have them get in contact with me. We'd like this to turn out very successful and have the students feel good for doing something that's meaningful.

Thanks for reading!

I'm making this an open post because I'd like as much input in it as possible. Please pass it along to other groups, friends and such.

Upon discussion with several friends, we had a few questions come up that had to deal with the costuming and cosplaying in Harry Potter and what people tend to see, would like to see, would not like to see, especially concerning the male characters.

Hey everyone. I made my friends list cut today and there were quite a few people to go. If you were one of these people and I either told you I was keeping you, you friended me within the past month, or you just didn't have a chance to respond and would still like to stay on my Friends List and be able to read the pointless ramblings of my journal, please feel free to comment. Most people were just cut because they didn't comment, although a select few of you who didn't comment were kept anyways. If you were kept and wanted to be removed, please let me know as well and I'll take you off my list.

Anyway, let me know if you have any questions regarding the cut or what not. I'm still adding new friends so if you DO want to be a part of my FL, just let me know!

I'm disappearing again. When I started this job, we were told that we wouldn't be able to teach the same science as the other 3rd grade teachers, since they had gone to all these workshops and have these special units and such. So the workshops we need are tomorrow and Friday in Stillwater. *dances* OSU! LOL Mel and I are rooming together there, since we are being set up with a free hotel room for tonight and tomorrow night. Heck yeah! I'm so over spending this month since we are going to be at OSU... ESKIMO JOES!!!! Love it. Anyways, I'll get back sometime Friday afternoon where I'm immediately going to try to sort out what my subs did. And then head over to the Piedmont Football game to watch all the happenings. *grin* Gosh I love Fall.

Anyways, will be back sometime Saturday afternoon! *huggles all*

The concert that I have been planning on attending with the PWGIs for several months was cancelled last night (this morning). The concert that my Dad took off an entire day of work for so that he could drive me down to Dallas. The concert that I applied to leave work late for when I should have been a nice little person and stayed the extra 20 minutes till I could actually leave without causing a hassle. The concert that was going to play many many things by my Beloved Brilliant Genius Guru Master Extrodinare, John Williams, that I was way past excited to see. The concert that I've been telling my kids I was going to since the first day of school and they are nearly as excited as I am.

This is not right. And they only decide to tell us 1 freaking day before the concert?! I'm not happy now.

So I don't know if I'll be going down to Dallas now or not. I'm waiting to find out if there is another plan, and when I should be there. Should I take off and book it down there still as planned? Should I lazily make my little way down sometime that weekend? Or should I just spend the weekend catching up here? Sad thing is, I don't know if I'll be able to check my email between now and when I was supposed to leave! *dies*

When in a grumpy gloomy mood, do NOT under any circumstances watch movies that make you cry. And for your own mental health, do NOT watch more than 2 of those types of movies in a row! Baka!

So I get a few hours to myself (when I SHOULD be making lesson plans... hehe) and decide to play with graphics. Came up with four so far. No Shibby, but there is ONE Matsie for Lisa. I need to find some pics for some ideas I have...

1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7.

Feel free to use. Remember to comment if taken and credit in keywords. And don't direct link.

Credits: #1 - From the song Normal Life by someone... #2 - from another song that I don't remember the title of... #3 - also from a song on the same cd (which I can't remember) that I also can't remember the title of... I think the second two are on the Ella Enchanted CD. I have so many cds I can't keep them straight. If anyone can tell me those, I'd be much appreciative. #6 - From 'To Where You Are' by Josh Groban. #7 - From 'Never Let Go' by Josh Groban

It's amusing me that I was trying to make all these overly elaborate avatars before, and now the ones I'm making are coming out really really simple. *shrug*

ETA: 3 more Icons... *shrug*

Been busy lately of course. Spend Friday in New Teachers Meetings... Fun stuff that. There are about 15 new teachers to the Piedmont District which is quite a lot for their little town. I think they said enrollment jumped insanely with 150 new kids since the last day of school last year.

I managed to pull all the things out of the cabinets in my classroom. That was a mess. The teacher who was there last year left everything, and I had to go through and organize it all. I had the entire classroom covered in things from those cabinets. But I managed to put it all back in so I could find it, and even figured out what things were for. I was quite happy. Still have lots to do. But I'm taking a break this weekend.

Yesterday was the OG&E Linemen's Expo. My family has volunteered for that since I can remember. My Dad has always helped run it, and Mom and I would work one of the consession stands for a couple of hours. I used to love going as a kid. Moonbounces, prizes, video games, as much soda and candy as you want.... and all free. It's a kid's dream come true. Every year before we get there, mom and I both wonder why the heck we are doing it again. We don't want to go stand out in a little tin can in the heat for hours, not to mention sitting in the dusty tent and watching the linemen climb the poles and compete. But once we get there, it's a blast. I swear I ate so much candy yesterday... *dies*

Then Dad, Mom and I came home and got dressed up to go to Kim and Chase's wedding reception thing. It was out in this uber fancy area of Edmond. The house was about 3 of our house put together... So we went in and just talked with the few people we knew there. Sara, Dawn and Ed were actually very nice, which I wasn't expecting. We've never been as good as them, or atleast that's how they always made us feel. Sara is my age, and in her 2nd year of Law School at OCU. LOL funny she started there when I finished. But she was really nice and even said she'd like to go do something sometime since we both live here. I was in shock.

You know, Sara reminds me alot of Shannon. Absolutely gorgeous and knows it, popular, many friends who are just as 'perfect' as they are, and too good to be seen with the rejects of my family, regardless of how we are cousins and all. Shannon's always been nice to me though, trying to change me into being like her, working for her dad and being more socially popular in her little crowd. *rolls eyes* LOL Sara just never gave me the time of day before.

Anywhozzles, while I was supposed to be doing countless other things, I was drooling over the hotness of 'Teh Shibby' and came up with these icons. I know they are all the same. *shrug* But I figured different fans could pick up which name they liked him better as. ((ETA: Added the Motoki Turtle Terror Face... *dies* He's so funny...))

1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

If you use, please credit in Keywords and please post in comments. If you want to use on your website, please ask me first. And please, don't direct link.

ETA: HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAYS TO [info]slayerjenn and [info]pattyluffsyou! *huggles both* Sorry I missed them before girls!

Eh, still never found the spider at home. Thank goodness. Found a rather monsterous one up at the school though. *cringe* Made Dad kill it for me when he and Mom showed up to see the room. (I wanted a refridgerator for my room last night, but we couldn't find one at Sam's... they were bringing one they bought out to me. But I had just bought the same one the hour before! But it was so sweet!) But yeah... Not liking all the spiders and pigeon poop in the classroom.

Other than that, the teachers on my third grade team are the BEST! They are all so wonderfully nice and so much fun. They've all been helping me out. The other new teacher on the team and I are going to the New Teacher Meetings together tomorrow. Get this, her last name is Moore! *dies*

Lost my cell phone today. I guess it fell out of my pocket when I was at Wal-mart, and it looks like it was run over. Thankfully, someone found it and turned it in. LOL They wanted me to call to prove it was mine, but we had it suspended so people wouldn't make long distance calls on it. Anyways, the screen is all busted where its just blurry black. So first paycheck goes to a new phone. I think it will work, once it gets unsuspended, I just won't be able to text message or see who's calling.

Eh, I'm half asleep and will probably be in bed by 10 tonight. School hasn't even started and I'm worn out! lol...

Ok.... so I must just be imagining things. I've been in bed asleep for awhile. (Yes before 11 pm at that go figure...) and about 5 minutes ago I turned over and caught a glimps of a spider going up it's string towards the ceiling. I have one of those misquito netting things around my bed so I figured it was hooked onto that.

Now, those who know me, know that I have a Ron complex. I'm scared out of my wits of spiders. I tend to stay out of rooms until even the tiniest one is gone. I even shake out all blankets and clothes before they are used. (I've had a spider crawl out of a blanket I was curled up in and sit for over 5 minutes on my neck when I was little. I shake out everything before they are used now...)

So I see this spider, which looked ot be pretty good sized, hanging right above me and moving upwards. And I freak. I scramble out of bed with a squeal, make it across the mess of my room in one piece and flip on the light. Since I have to be awake at some insane hour tomorrow for teacher stuff, I go back to see where the spider is at, and then to decide who I should wake up to come kill it. Only....

I can't find it!

I don't see a spider anywhere around my bed. It's not crawling up the netting, it's not in the pillows or the blankets... it's no where! There is no way it could've disappeared that fast, right? So, did I just have a very crazy realistic dream that caused me tow wake up thinking I had been awake the whole time?

I'm so sleepy. And I'm really frightened of that bed right now. And now I think it was all only a dream. I'm so tempted to go downstairs and sleep on the couch... Damn spiders.
